How to Care for Your Swig

A well-loved Swig needs a tried and true cleaning routine. Take a swig for a long time with our guide to caring for your drinkware and accessories.

DRINKWARE

Does your Swig have a silicone base? If so, it's dishwasher safe!

  1. Rinse cup and place on the top rack of your dishwasher.
  2. Remove slider piece (view instructions below) and silicone ring from lid. Place in the utensil basket.

Don't have a dishwasher? No problem!

  1. Hand wash with mild dish soap. Never use bleach or abrasive cleaners containing chlorine.
  2. Place upside down on drying rack or dry surface.

PUSH-SEAL LIDS

All of our lids and caps are top-rack dishwasher safe, and sliders are removable for easy cleaning.

Opt for our EZ Flow Lids for quick sips, or pick from our Slider Lids or EZ Slider Lids to minimize spills and keep your drinks warmer (or cooler!) for longer.

How to Clean Your Slider Lid:

  1. Flip your lid upside down, slider lid closed.
  2. Using the blunt end of a spoon or other utensil, press firmly to release.
  3. Hand wash or place in your dishwasher's utensil basket.
  4. When clean, place lid right side up on a soft surface and press the slider firmly into place.

Have one of our Colorblock lids or color sliders? You can remove the slider the same way as our Clear Slider Lid featured here!

How to Clean Your EZ Slider Lid:

  1. Hold your lid in front of you with the beverage opening at the bottom.
  2. Place your thumb on the bottom of the slider and push it up to slide it off the back end of the lid. You will hear a click as it slides off.
  3. Hand wash or place in your dishwasher's utensil basket.
  4. When clean, simply slide it back on the same way you removed it, and wait for a click to ensure it's in place.

FAQ

Can I place my reusable straws in the dishwasher?

Swig Life Reusable Straw Sets are dishwasher safe, although handwashing with the included cleaning brush is recommended for maximum sanitation.

Glitter Straws are not dishwasher safe and may warp at high temperatures.

Why will my slider piece and my lid not come apart?

Do not be afraid to add a little extra pressure when removing your slider piece from your lid. If you are still having difficulties, try soaking your lid in warm water before attempting the removal again. This will help loosen any tightness or remove any build up that is causing the piece to remain in place. Need extra help? Email us at hello@swiglife.com.

Can I put my Swig in the microwave?

Swigs should not be put in the microwave. This not only will damage your product, but can be dangerous to you and your appliance.
