To keep colder, put ice in last and do not drain the water when the ice melts
Performs best with zipper closed and stored out of the sun
Pre-chill food and drinks before you pack

The bag itself is amazing and keeps my food cold as needed. My only dislike is the magnetic buttons on the side. I placed my 32-oz Owala in it, and it completely broke off, leaving a large scratch. The side pockets could definitely fit a water bottle that size. It's just the buttons get in the way and are extremely flimsy.

I love my backpack cooler. It is so convenient when I go to the pool with my kids. I like how it opens up square and how much it holds. It is also not oversized so when you fill it up it’s not too heavy.
