In January, I placed an order for an assortment of travel mugs - when there was a fantastic sale on a huge selection of clearance items - to give as gifts to friends I don’t see until 2-3 weeks after the actual Christmas and New Year holidays. Knowing that the old-style (to me) lids with the sliding clear tabs fit other brands I had (like Rtic, Yeti, and Member’s Mark), I ordered 4 of these new-style slider lids to use replace old lids as needed on those brands, and one to replace one of the Swig old-style sliding tab lids, which - even though I soaked in hot water for a few minutes before I pushed the underside of the slider to take it apart to clean - it still broke. This new style is much easier to slide apart for cleaning without worry of breakage. And to the (at least one) reviewer who said they didn’t like this new slider lid because it leaked when closed, make sure you push to close it all the ways until it CLICKS - only then is it fully closed and won’t leak.

This was a replacement for a lid that wasn’t working the way it should and this one works great.

I always get extra lids just in case one breaks or I'm short of time and just grab a other one.

If you are a straw person, which I am not, there are so many cute options and colors. We need more color options with our slider lids, PLEASE

I love this cup ( I have the 32 oz tumbles and I typically use it for hot drinks). Even though the lid is not a screw in, I love this cup lid combo because the lid fit so securely that it actually took some effort to get the lid off. I liked that about it because I was never worried about spilling hot liquid in the car etc. My old lid eventually cracked - still functional but I decided to replace it because it looked funky. I was pleased about the new version with the sleek black slider (I purchased the tumbler four years ago and at the time the lid was made from all clear plastic). However the lid arrived with a rough edge and chip at the mouthpiece. Right where I drink from it has a seam, a rough plastic edge and a small chip despite arriving in undamaged packaging. It appears to be a manufacturing defect. Also, the new replacement lid doesn’t fit as securely as my old one did. I can pop the lid off with one finger. The old lid fit so snugly that I had to use some force. I’m worried about the contents of the cup spilling now which is a hassle. It might be because the lid I received has those defects I mentioned so it doesn’t fit securely like it’s designed to. In any case I’m disappointed because I paid more money for shipping than the lid itself cost, and when I looked into returning and exchanging, in order to return or exchange I would have to pay that high shipping cost again to send the defective lid back! For that amount I could buy a complete new set. Disappointed as this is my go-to mug.
