At Swig Life, we love a great drink. If you’re reading this, we’re guessing you feel similarly. Whether you’re a beginning bartender (if you are, this blog is for you!) or a seasoned sommelier and drink connoisseur, every drink has a story. The Hemingway Daiquiri is no different.
What is a Hemingway Daiquiri?
The Hemingway is a drink that Ernest Hemingway was reported to drink frequently at the famous Cuban bar El Floridita.
Traditionally, a daiquiri is a simple combination of rum, lime juice, and simple syrup. The Hemingway twists this classic by adding the sweet and sticky luxury of maraschino liqueur and bright grapefruit juice. These small changes complicate the traditional daiquiri and make for a fantastically vibrant drink that might compel you to start writing books.
Our Hemingway Daiquiri offers one more twist—it’s served up strong and only slightly sweet.
